Picht oil, also called Oil from the Siberian pine bark (Pinus sibirica), this is a traditional preparation of medicinal herbs used for centuries in folk medicine of northern Eurasia. Its name comes from the Russian word "пихта" (pichta), meaning the pine species, from which bark and twigs are obtained valuable oil. Aromatic, amber fluid is known for its comprehensive action - from respiratory support through skin care to internal supplementation strengthening immunity and joints.
Modern research confirms that the monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes and phenols it contains-primarily β-pinen, limonen, borryl acetal and coffee acid-have strong anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and immunomodulatory properties. Thanks to this, picht oil is a valuable raw material for inhalation, compresses, ointments and in controlled doses for oral supplementation.
What is picht oil and how is it obtained?
Picht oil is an essential oil obtained from bark, twigs and cones of Siberian pine (Pinus sibirica) or Siberian spruce (Picea Ovevata). The traditional method of obtaining its acquisition consists of steam distillation of fresh or slightly dried vegetable raw material, which allows you to preserve volatile high -purity terpene compounds. Laboratories use standardized steam or water -alcohol extraction to get oil with a stable composition.
The quality of the oil depends on: the origin of the raw material, the date of the harvest (spring or early summer) and the distillation method at low temperature and short extraction. The fake oil has a density of about 0.90–0.94g/cm³, light -yellow to the amber color and a fresh, resinous smell with a hint of pine and citrus.
Chemical composition and main active compounds
Chemically picht oil is a mixture of over 100 volatile compounds. The most important are monoterpenes: β-pinen (30-45%), δ-3-karene (15-25%) and limonen (5-10%), and seasviterpenes: boringl acetal (2-5%) and alpha-cadinen (1-3%). Phenolo acids such as coffee and ferulic acid, which protect against oxidative stress, are also present in the oil.
Monoterpenes are responsible for anti -inflammatory and anti -bacterial effects, sesquiterpenes - for stabilizing the antiseptic effect, and phenolocularwas - for antioxidant support for tissue regeneration. This combination determines the versatile operation of the oil.
