Another important element is the concentration of vitamin D in the blood. Unfortunately, scientists beat the alarm, because nearly 90% of the European population has an extremely deficit level of this vitamin, which means that we are an easy target for pathogenic microorganisms, such as viruses and bacteria and fungi. That is why it is worth spending a minimum of an hour in the sun between 10:00 and 15:00 during spring and summer, and from the end of September to start supplementation at least 2000 and vitamin D per day.


Antioxidants, which include vitamin C, and numerous bioflavonoids found in the fruits of elderberry, chokeberry, sea buckthorn, currant and many others can significantly support the body's fight with viruses, mainly by stimulating the secretion of cytokines and inhibiting virus multiplication. Therefore, the use of the above extracts, juices and dried fruit is particularly recommended during ongoing infection and for preventive purposes. Nothing prevents that these fruits do not support our menu permanently.


Polyphenols, belonging to antioxidants found in dark grapes in the form of resveratrol, should be present in the human diet. They have many biological properties beneficial to the body, including antioxidant, immunomodulatory - by influence on the multiplication of immune system cells and the production of cytokines or other factors involved in defense reactions.
